Airplanes can fly upside-down due to lift created by its angle of attack. The amount of lift generated by a wing is determined by the shape of the wing and the angle of attack. The angle of attack is how much the wing is tilted. The more tilt, the faster air moves over the top of the wing, and the more lift the plane generates. A plane with a high enough angle of attack can overcome a curved bottom and flat top.
