Why is forecasting human population growth more difficult than forecasting population growth in other animals?

Scientists have difficulty forecasting human population growth because of ever changing economic and cultural behavior amongst people. Societal norms are nearly impossible to predict so it becomes hard to estimate the population. Unlike animals, humans are able to resist natural selection pressure through science and technology.
