Malcolm X was one of the most influential people of the Black Power movement. Malcolm X felt that nonviolence was a strategy that would not bring real social change. Instead, he focused on empowering blacks and felt that they should create change by "any means necessary." If this meant that violence was needed, so bet it. His message hit home for millions of African-Americans and helped in creating the Black Panther party.
